Work Day April 27, 1013


On Saturday, 27 April 2013, Eighty-seven (87) volunteers (Seventy-two volunteers from Mountain Christian Church, fourteen from Friend of Jerusalem Mill/Percy Lee Dairy Farm Foundation and one from  Maryland Conservation Corp) joined Ranger Dean Hughes to complete various maintenance and improvement activities at the Gitting-Baldwin Mansion and Historical Jerusalem Mill Village.  These activities included: landscaping gardens at Gittings-Baldwin Mansion, the front of Headquarters Gunpowder Falls State Park, and McCourtney's Store; planting of Maryland native plants behind McCourtney's Store; painting foot bridges; scraping/painting windows/rooms within the McCourtney's General Store, Springhouse and Blacksmith Shop; log splitting; repairing three board fence damaged by automobile accident; installing new three board fencing in front of original Lee Family mansion; repairing walkway/stairway to front of McCourtney's Store, and, Jericho Covered Bridge trail maintenance.  See attached photos from Servefest: Gittings-Baldwin Mansion/Historic Jerusalem Mill Village.
